Tables and chairs for parties, events and professional use

The right tables and chairs help create a comfortable and practical setting for everything from garden parties, weddings and family celebrations to receptions, conferences, markets and professional events. At Dancover, you can find folding tables, folding chairs, stacking chairs, benches, bar tables and complete furniture solutions for both private and professional use.

Choosing event furniture involves more than finding a suitable style. The number of guests, available floor space, type of event and need for transport and storage should all be considered. Folding and stackable furniture is particularly useful when it needs to be set up regularly, moved between venues or stored in a limited space.

Which tables and chairs suit your event?

The range includes furniture for dining, presentations, meetings and informal gatherings:

• folding tables for dining, buffets, meetings, displays and work areas
• folding chairs that are easy to set up, move and store
• stacking chairs for restaurants, cafés, conferences and frequently used event spaces
• benches and table and bench sets for informal events and communal dining
• bar tables and bar chairs for receptions, exhibitions and standing events
• party packages that combine several products in one convenient solution

The best choice depends partly on how your guests will use the space. Will everyone remain seated throughout the event, move between different areas or gather mainly around bar tables?

Round and rectangular folding tables

Rectangular tables offer a high degree of flexibility. They can be used individually, arranged in long rows or combined in different layouts. This makes them suitable for dining, meetings, buffets, product displays and temporary work areas.

Round tables create a different atmosphere and make it easier for guests to see and talk to one another. They are often used for weddings, formal dinners, conferences and larger celebrations. However, a round table may require more floor space than a rectangular one, so always check its diameter and allow enough room for chairs and access around it.

Folding tables are a practical option when furniture must be transported or stored between events. Some models fold in the centre to form a compact case, while others have legs that fold underneath the tabletop. Check both the assembled and folded dimensions before choosing a model, especially if the tables must fit into a vehicle, storeroom or trolley.

Folding chairs or stacking chairs?

Folding chairs are ideal when a large number of seats must be prepared quickly. After the event, they can be folded and stored compactly. They can be used for private parties, meetings, ceremonies, presentations, rental businesses and many other events.

Stacking chairs are useful when the furniture is used frequently but still needs to be cleared away without taking up unnecessary floor space. They are suitable for restaurants, cafés, hotels, conference centres, community halls and event venues.

The right level of comfort depends on how long guests will be seated. Comfort should carry more weight at dinners, conferences and all-day events than at short presentations or ceremonies. Chair shape, seat material and back support may therefore influence the choice.

Materials and intended use vary between models. Always check the individual product information to see whether a chair is suitable for indoor use, outdoor use or both.

Benches, table and bench sets, and bar tables

Benches and table and bench sets provide seating for many people and are well suited to garden parties, community events, markets, festivals and other informal gatherings. They are also useful when guests need to find a seat without following a fixed seating plan.

Bar tables help create areas where guests can stand, talk and place drinks or light refreshments. They can be used on their own or combined with bar chairs. At receptions, exhibitions and networking events, bar tables can complement traditional seating and make the layout more varied.

A combination of furniture types is often the best solution. Dining tables and chairs can form the main seating area, while bar tables provide space for shorter conversations and benches accommodate flexible groups of guests.

Calculate the space before ordering

Begin by deciding how many guests you expect and how the event will be organised. Will everyone be seated at tables, or do you also need room for a buffet, bar, dance floor, stage, presentation area or exhibition stand?

Remember to allow space for:

• chairs and movement around the tables
• serving and clear walkways
• buffet and bar areas
• entrances, exits and access routes
• equipment, decorations and entertainment
• moving between different parts of the venue

The number of people who can sit at a table depends on its shape and dimensions as well as the width of the chairs. Use the specific product measurements rather than calculating capacity from the total floor area alone.

If the furniture will be used inside a marquee, draw a simple floor plan before choosing the size of the marquee and the number of tables. This helps prevent overcrowding and ensures that guests and serving staff can move comfortably around the space.

Transport, setup and storage

Weight, folded dimensions and handling are especially important when furniture is used professionally or moved between venues. Before ordering, check how many tables and chairs can be stored in the available space and whether they can be transported in your vehicle.

For larger quantities, table and chair trolleys can make moving furniture between the storage area and the venue more efficient. Furniture should be clean and completely dry before being folded or stacked for storage.

Set up tables and chairs on a level, stable surface and make sure all folding mechanisms are fully locked before use. Outdoor furniture should be brought inside or covered when it is not in use unless the individual product is specifically designed to remain outdoors.

Complete the setting with tablecloths and chair covers

Tables and chairs can be adapted to the style of the event with tablecloths and chair covers. Neutral colours provide a versatile starting point, while decorations, flowers, tableware and lighting can add colour and character.

When using furniture and textiles outdoors, always check whether the individual products are suitable for outdoor conditions. Planning the furniture, layout and accessories together makes it easier to create a practical and consistent setting.
