Flame retardant FleXtents

Flame-retardant FleXtents® pop-up gazebos with B1 certification

Flame-retardant FleXtents® pop-up gazebos offer flexible shelter for fairs, exhibitions, markets and other events where the venue or organiser may ask for documented fire performance. They combine a folding frame with selected roof covers and sidewalls carrying B1 documentation.

The models are intended for professional event use, but can also suit private users who prefer a flame-retardant cover. Requirements vary between venues and events, so check what documentation is needed before choosing a gazebo.

What does B1 certification mean?

B1 is a flame-retardant classification under the German standard DIN 4102-1. It describes the fire behaviour of a material; it does not mean the material is fireproof or non-combustible.

Dancover’s product specifications identify the relevant models with a DIN 4102-1 B1 certificate. Check the documentation for the exact product you plan to use, and confirm with the event organiser that it meets their requirements. A B1 classification does not automatically satisfy every venue’s fire-safety rules.

Choose a series and configuration

Flame-retardant models are available in selected FleXtents® PRO, PRO Steel and Xtreme configurations.

FleXtents® PRO has an aluminium frame and is designed for frequent professional use, particularly when transport and handling are important. FleXtents® PRO Steel offers a steel-frame option for regular event use. FleXtents® Xtreme is the strongest FleXtents® series and is intended for intensive professional use.

Choose according to how often you will use and transport the gazebo, as well as the level of durability required. Sizes, colours and included sidewalls vary by model. Some configurations come with sidewalls, while others allow you to add compatible walls separately. Check the product details to confirm the exact specification and certificate.

Plan the layout, sidewalls and branding

Consider how guests, visitors or staff will use the covered area. An open setup can work well for a market stand or product display. Sidewalls can provide more shelter, help define an exhibition space or create a backdrop for a branded stand.

Selected FleXtents® models can be customised with digital print, from a logo on the valance to graphics on compatible roof covers and sidewalls. If the event requires B1 documentation, verify that the printed components and the complete configuration meet the organiser’s requirements. Do not assume that every print option carries the same certification.

Set up, transport and store the gazebo

The folding frame opens as one unit, without assembling separate roof bars and legs. Setup is quick once you are familiar with the system, though larger models and configurations with sidewalls or accessories take more preparation. Follow the instructions for your specific model.

After use, the frame folds down for transport and storage. Check whether a transport bag is included or available separately, and let the cover and sidewalls dry fully before packing them away.

Anchor the gazebo and monitor the weather

Fire classification and structural safety are separate considerations. Secure every leg using an anchoring method suited to the gazebo, surface and conditions. This may include pegs and storm straps on suitable soft ground, or weights on hard surfaces.

Sidewalls increase the area exposed to wind. Check the forecast before the event and monitor conditions while the gazebo is in use. Take it down before strong winds, heavy rain or other severe weather. FleXtents® gazebos are temporary shelters, and anchoring cannot make them safe in every condition.
